ABOUT ZAPLATTICE

THE IDEA

Zaplattice started from a simple question: what if a strategy game didn't need dice, cards, or a rulebook thick enough to double as a doorstop? Just a grid, a handful of energy tiles, and the tension of watching your territory spread — or shrink — one turn at a time. No resource management, no tech trees, no fifteen-minute setup phase. Just the board, your opponent, and the lattice deciding who was paying attention.

WHY HEXAGONS

Most grid games default to squares because squares are easy to draw. But squares only give a tile four neighbors, which makes territory feel blocky and predictable. Hexagons give every tile six neighbors, which means every placement has more consequences, more angles of attack, and more ways for a single move to ripple across the board. It's a small geometric choice that changes the entire feel of the game.

WHO IT'S FOR

Zaplattice is built for people who like quick, sharp strategy sessions — the kind you can play on a commute, during a coffee break, or as a warm-up before a longer game night. It's easy to learn in under a minute, but the interaction between spreading power and territory control gives it real depth once you start planning two or three moves ahead. Whether you're facing the AI solo, passing the phone to a friend, or playing online across two devices, the core tension stays the same: control more of the lattice than your opponent does.

WHERE IT'S GOING

Zaplattice is actively maintained, with new difficulty tuning, grid sizes, and multiplayer improvements added over time based on how people actually play. If you have feedback, ideas, or just want to report a tile that spread somewhere it shouldn't have, you can always reach out through the Contact page.
